I was exposed to rotations I never knew I had interest in until I was partaking in the rotation.. The skills I gained with the guidance of my preceptors will remain with me throughout my career. Initially, when I moved across the country, I was apprehensive to what I could experience and learn at the LSCVAMC in Cleveland. After the completion of this internship, my appreciation for the versatility of the dietetics field has greatly expanded and positively influenced the way I think of the nutritional wellbeing of people. - J.H.

This program absolutely exceeded my expectations. The content in the rotations and the classes are well structured so that you come out of the program well-rounded and aware of all that the dietetics field has to offer. Most importantly, it's clear that everyone you work with in the hospital and the academic setting wants you to succeed. Can't recommend this program enough! - E.K.

I cannot say enough good things about this internship and my experience throughout this past year. The preceptors and administrators provided guidance and support throughout each rotation and went above and beyond to prepare us to be dietitians in the future. This hospital has been a positive environment where dietetic interns, other students, and staff are supported in their growth and development. I feel prepared and ready to have a successful career as a dietitian all thanks to this program and the people in it! - M.M.

I strongly believe that this internship has prepared me well for a career as a registered dietitian. Over the 12 months of this internship, I have grown immensely in my confidence to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients with all different types of medical conditions. This program will provide you with a variety of hands-on experience in the many different specialties such as Oncology, Nutrition Support, Food Service, Diabetes Self-Management and Support, and many more. Overall, I think this program offers a very unique experience and I could not recommend it more. - L.Z.

This program offered so many unique opportunities to learn. The preceptors and program director were incredibly knowledgeable and offered a lot of support throughout hte program! - E.B.

Louis Stokes VAMC Dietetic Internship allowed me to grow not only in the field of dietetics but as a whole. This program provides the perfect balance between school, your internship and time for planning your next steps. - G.F.

The LSCVAMC DI prepares dietetic interns really well to be RDNs. This program focuses a lot on the quality of work that is done, which enabled me to learn a significant amount. I feel very prepared to take the RDN exam and to practice as an entry-level RDN! I would highly recommend this program, there is so much opportunity to learn and so much opportunity to grow as a future RDN! - A.K.

LSCVAMC Dietetic Internship provided me with an opportunity to further develop my interest, knowledge, and skills in the field of dietetics. During the challenging months of the pandemic, the VA internship adapted and adjusted to the new changes associated with COVID quickly and offered more than I could've expected during the challenging time. - T.P.

I highly recommend this combined Master's/Internship program! I firmly believe I am where I am today because of it. I have a fantastic job that I love and it is due to the study skills, analytic research and work ethic I learned through this program. Don't think twice about applying.  - S.K.

The VA program is amazing at showing you things you never thought you could do. There are some character building challenges along the way, but it is so worth it. You'll get back twice what you put into it, so have fun and work hard.  - D.L.

The Louis Stokes VA Dietetic Internship is the greatest! The variety of rotations, projects, and experiences fully prepared me to begin my career as a clinical dietitian. We were challenged to develop and hone our clinical skills and had fun at the same time! Once you've worked in the VA system, you'll never want to go anywhere else! I highly recommend this program to anyone interested in the best dietetic internship and Master's degree program.  - S.W.

The Louis Stokes VAMC internship program provided a strong base for advancement in endless directions within the field of nutrition. This program is well-rounded, with an emphasis on clinical dietetics that includes both acute and long-term settings, out-patient education, research, and food service. Prior to starting my search for an internship, I was not interested in pursuing an advanced degree. However, after receiving a master's degree from CWRU I now realize how much of an advantage I have over my peers within the field who did not further their formal education.  - E.C.

The Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC Dietetic Internship was the best place to obtain clinical training as a dietetic student. I obtained an in depth clinical experience and excellent communication and leadership training. Amongst my colleagues, I feel very competent and prepared for my career as a Registered Dietitian. Please extend my thanks and gratitude to all the Staff.  - R.M.

The internship prepared us MUCH better than people coming out of other internships. The experiences that we received and the rotations were a great way to prepare us. I also like how we got so much outpatient and counseling experience. Talking to people from other internships and so forth I think that we have a much superior program and I'm so happy that you accepted me into the program 2 years ago! (I can't believe it was that long ago already) I loved how all of the dietitians were great teachers and were glad to help us learn. I also enjoyed having the combined program with CWRU because between the VA and CWRU I've made lots of great professional contacts and have expanded my network of contacts. I think that the combination of UH, VA and CWRU has made for some wonderful experiences and awesome dietitians that we've been able to meet and learn from.  - J.M.
